Statement of Faith

History of Lighthouse Pentecostal Ministries, Inc.
Lighthouse Pentecostal Assembly

We believe

    1. In the verbal inspiration of the Bible.
    II Timothy 3:16-17
    2. In one God eternally existing in three persons; namely, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.
    Deuteronomy 6:4, I Corinthians 8:6, II Corinthians 5:19
    3. That Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of the Virgin Mary. That Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. That He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor.
    Luke 1:26-35, John 1:1-18, Isaiah 7:14; 9:6
    4. That all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins.
    Ephesians 2:8-9, Hebrews 9:12-22, Romans 4:1-10; 5:11
    5. That justification, regeneration, and the new birth are wrought by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.
    Ephesians 2:8-9, Hebrews 9:12-22, Romans 4:1-10; 5:11
    6. In sanctification subsequent to the new birth, through faith in the blood of Jesus Christ; through the Word of God, and by the Holy Ghost.
    Romans 5:2, I Corinthians 1:30. I Thessalonians 4:3, Hebrews 13:12
    7. Holiness to be God’s standard of living for His people.
    Luke 1:75, I Thessalonians 4:7, Hebrews 12:14
    8. In the baptism with the Holy Ghost subsequent to a clean heart and the enduement of power for service.
    Matthew 3:11, Luke 24:49 & 53, Acts 1:4-8
    9. In speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance and that it is the initial evidence of the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
    John 15:26, Acts 2:4; 10:44-46; 19:1-7, Galatians 3:14-15
    10. In water baptism by immersion, and all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
    Matthew 28:19, Acts 2:38; 19:1-6, Romans 6:4
    11. Divine healing is provided for all in the Atonement.
    James 5:14, I Peter 2:24
    12. In the Lord’s Supper and the washing of the saint’s feet.
    Luke 22:17-20, I Corinthians 11:23-26, John 13:4-17, I Timothy 5:9-10
    13. In the premillennial second coming of Jesus Christ. First, to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to Him in the air. Second, to reign on the earth a thousand years.
    I Corinthians 15:52, I Thessalonians 4:15-17, II Thessalonians 2:1, Zechariah 14:4, I Thessalonians 4:14, II Thessalonians 1:7-10, Jude 14 & 15, Revelation 5:10; 19:11-21; 20:4-6
    14. In the bodily resurrection; eternal life for the righteous, and eternal punishment for the wicked.
    John 3:16; 5:24; 10:28, I John 5:11-13, Mark 3:29, II Thessalonians 1:8-9, Revelation 20:10-15
    15. That the term “marriage” has only one meaning, and that is marriage is sanctioned by God, which joins one man and one woman in a single, exclusive, conventional union, as delineated in Scripture.

We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to only occur between a man and a woman who are married to each other. We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman.

We believe that any form of sexual immorality, such as adultery, fornication, homosexual conduct, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, any use of pornography, or any attempt to change one’s sex, or disagreement with one’s biological sex, is sinful and offensive to God.

We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ.

We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity. Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture nor the doctrines of the church.
    Genesis 1:27-28; 2:18-25; 19:5 & 13; Leviticus 18:1-30; Exodus 20:14; Matthew 19:3-12; Romans 1:26-29; I Corinthians 5:1, 6:9-20; Ephesians 5:22-33; I Thessalonians 4:1-8; Hebrews 13:4
